Rita Sommers, a Nashville native, graduated from Belmont University in 2005 with a BBA. in Marketing. She was first introduced to Destination Nashville and the world of Destination Management in 2005 through her Event Management class at Belmont and was instantly drawn to the company and its philosophy.

Rita joined the Destination Nashville Operations Team with over four years of customer service, management, and catering management experience. She has also spent time working with the Nashville Film Festival, helping to coordinate all aspects of the 2006 festival. Rita enjoys being a part of the behind-the-scenes action and is inspired by seeing a well-planned event come together.
