Nashville Transportation via Air

"It sure wouldn't hurt to have wings," Mark Chesnutt sang in a recent country hit. Fortunately, Nashville International Airport has plenty of wings. BNA is served by 16 airlines providing access from all parts of the nation and the world. With more than 402 flights daily serving 92 direct markets (50 of which are non-stop flights), Nashville International makes it easy to attend a Music City meeting. The award-winning airport features a central passenger terminal with four concourses and 820,000 square feet of space.

While these figures might still be a far cry from Chicago's O'Hare or Atlanta's Hartsfield, they show significant growth from humble beginnings. When the airfield opened in 1937, it was known as Berry Field and occupied just 337 acres. In the 60 years since then, Nashville International has undergone numerous expansions, developments and renovations to become a state-of-the-art facility that now sits on 4,480 acres. Its efforts were rewarded in early 1998, when a nationwide study named Nashville International the fourth-best airport in the country. And you'll be happy to know that this airport is known for on-time performance.
