The Hermitage is a National Historic Landmark standing on 650 acres of rolling meadows and woodlands and one of the most popular presidential homes in the nation.  A visit to The Hermitage includes the mansion, grounds, garden, Jackson’s tomb, original cabins, Hermitage church, museum, film and plantation tour.

Arrive to a southern style welcome by a costumed interpreter who will guide you on a lively tour, recounting the colorful life of our nation’s seventh president, his family and daily life at The Hermitage in the early 19th century.

The recently restored mansion exhibits the most complete collection of original furnishings and personal belongings of any early presidential home in America.  Six rooms retain rare original wallpapers.  This beautiful plantation was more than just a home to Andrew Jackson.  The magnificent mansion was his haven, a peaceful shelter from political tension and turmoil.
